A common question on site or from clients is: "Is this HPL or Trespa?" And honestly? The confusion is understandable. But let's clarify it, because the correct term is actually: solid grade.

What is Solid Grade HPL?

Solid Grade HPL is an exceptionally strong and durable sheet material. It's made from resin-impregnated paper layers, pressed together under high pressure and temperature. The outer layers are both decorative and extremely resistant to external influences.

You'll often hear people refer to it as "compact HPL," and that's technically accurate. It's a specific form of HPL where the material is thick and solid enough to be used without a backing. However, in practice, we usually use the general term: Solid Grade HPL.
